SIPARIO

According to Vittorio Beltrami, in his essay La vuotezza written for the exhibition Sipario, Cavallari creates a dialogue between the stillness of the present and a past action projected towards the future. Here’s how he describes her work:
“Cavallari paints an absence, a past presence, an oblivious experience, and she does so through the traces of this passage, signs of use, the furniture and accessories, or the full and solid objects that in the past someone had moved to lean on, sit, or lie down. In reality, Cavallari captures that very action and, through the stillness of the images, refers to a future dimension: through the waiting for something that will happen. And she does so by playing with colors that, in an ultra-metaphysical way, define the material without the possibility of interpretation, making it clear and unequivocal that wood, fabric, glass, and brass are pure substance.”

Secondo Vittorio Beltrami, nel suo saggio La vuotezza scritto in occasione della mostra Sipario, Cavallari crea un dialogo tra la staticità del presente e un’azione passata proiettata verso il futuro. Ecco come descrive il suo lavoro: “Cavallari dipinge un’assenza, una presenza passata, un vissuto oblioso e lo fa attraverso le tracce di questo passaggio, testimonianze d’uso, gli arredi ed i complementi, ovvero gli oggetti pieni e solidi che in un tempo trascorso qualcuno aveva spostato per poggiarsi, sedersi, sdraiarsi. La Cavallari in realtà coglie proprio quell’azione compiuta e rimanda attraverso la staticità delle immagini ad una dimensione futura: attraverso l’attesa verso un qualcosa che accadrà. E lo fa giocando con i colori che, in modo ultra-metafisico, definiscono la materia senza possibilità di interpretazione, perché sia chiaro e inequivocabile che il legno, la stoffa, il vetro, l’ottone, sono pura sostanza.”
