Opere da una collezione is an exhibition organized by the Cassa Rurale Vallagarina with the patronage of the Municipality of Caprino Veronese which presents part of its private collection of modern and contemporary art. The armchairs, sofas, coffee table, and the artwork on the wall – a tribute to Lucio Fontana – all seem to be waiting for something that might happen, yet it is suspended, frozen in time; the inhabitants of this room are not present, but the furniture absorbs this absence, becoming the subjects themselves, present and communicating with us, the observers. As in many other works from this significant series dedicated to domestic environments, Roberta Cavallari – an artist from Ferrara (Italy), but with her studio in Ala (Italy), explores, through cycles of paintings, the metaphysics of places, inanimate objects, communication, and perspectives often placed high, video footage from hidden cameras almost stealing fragments of an improbable common life, opening – almost breaking through the domestic box – to equally essential and solitary external panoramas.
