RE-BIRTH DAY

On the occasion of the second edition of the Rebirth-day, the first worldwide day of rebirth included in the project The Third Paradise of the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto and cittadellarte, (galleria +) Oltredimore is pleased to annonce the event “KAIROS. It’s time to change and re-birth” curated by Raffaele Quattrone. It is a new perspective to involve everyone, without exception, in the daily effort to create the third paradise that is a world with a real balance between nature and artifice. In the Ancient Greece kairos was the word to describe a particular condition both of the time and the action. It was the right time to do something because it was no longer time to hesitate or postpone. We need to look ourselves in the mirror. We need to look ourselves into the eyes. We need to find in ourselves the power to change and responsibility that will bring us closer to the others giving precedence to the respect for others, for nature, for those who will be born. You have to re-find the balance to which the Terzo Paradiso calls us. Only with this new force we can be re-born. Only with this new force we can change the world (…). Roberta Cavallari and Lucia Anselmi created a video showing the performance in which Roberta Cavallari brings around the city of Bologna a mirror in which the nature, the people and the buildings are seen. The mirror is symbolic, as well as the kites made with mirror (that the artists designed graphically), represents freedom and discovery but also a research and truth tool with which we can amplifie and elevate knowledge. The work is one of the characteristics of the artistic practice by Michelangelo Pistoletto for which they are “an optical prosthesis that the brain uses to ask and get to know”. The mirror in this work reflects the nature and in this way us in the nature as a part of a common future and project.

In occasione della seconda edizione del Rebirth-day, la prima giornata mondiale della rinascita inclusa nel progetto Il Terzo Paradiso dell’artista Michelangelo Pistoletto e di Cittadellarte, (galleria +) Oltredimore è lieta di annunciare l’evento KAIROS. It’s time to change and re-birth curato da Raffaele Quattrone. Si tratta di una nuova prospettiva per coinvolgere tutti, senza eccezioni, nell’impegno quotidiano di creare il Terzo Paradiso, un mondo con un reale equilibrio tra natura e artefatto. Nell’antica Grecia, kairos era la parola usata per descrivere una condizione particolare sia del tempo che dell’azione. Era il momento giusto per fare qualcosa, perché non c’era più tempo per esitare o rimandare. Dobbiamo guardarci allo specchio. Dobbiamo guardarci negli occhi. Dobbiamo trovare in noi stessi la forza di cambiare e la responsabilità che ci avvicinerà agli altri, dando priorità al rispetto per gli altri, per la natura, per chi nascerà. Bisogna ritrovare l’equilibrio a cui ci chiama il Terzo Paradiso. Solo con questa nuova forza possiamo rinascere. Solo con questa nuova forza possiamo cambiare il mondo (…). Roberta Cavallari e Lucia Anselmi hanno creato un video che mostra la performance in cui Roberta Cavallari porta in giro per la città di Bologna uno specchio in cui si riflettono la natura, le persone e gli edifici. Lo specchio è simbolico, così come gli aquiloni realizzati con specchio (che le artiste hanno progettato graficamente), rappresentano la libertà e la scoperta, ma anche uno strumento di ricerca e verità con cui possiamo amplificare e elevare la conoscenza. L’opera è una delle caratteristiche della pratica artistica di Michelangelo Pistoletto, per cui “sono una protesi ottica che il cervello usa per chiedere e conoscere”. Lo specchio in quest’opera riflette la natura e in questo modo noi stessi nella natura come parte di un futuro e di un progetto comune.
